With what I have seen coming at me on Facebook, of implied "impending doom" or the like, I have of course opted out of that kind of tactic and belief in any end to things, and as a re-phrasing in wordplay would rather suggest innovative thinking in f.ex. farming!
Lets say we were to have, like we now have for coffee, automatic creation of different sorts of coffee with advanced coffee machines. What if we used a similar approach to farming, vegetables.
I was just thinking an automated box of size 1.5 x 1 x 1 meters or so, that would have earth, water supply that you filled, different boxes for different seeds, and robotics with watering system inside that would automate the growing/creation of vegetables for household use.
So you would order seeds, put them in compartments, and look at them grown (planted and groomed by robotics), harvested by robotics and out in an output tray you would have ready-made vegetables for home use.
Just an idea!
On the AR vs VR Debate

As I see the AR and VR markets growing, and different bigger vendors and venture capital goes into creating the evolution into this new (but as some see it, old) potential of changing what we see,
there is an importance of seeing past what people have thought AR and VR to be in the past. Particularly how currently, even if innovative in game-markets and consumerist markets, they are a bit caught up in just extending the current trends in mobile app style GUIs, and overlay / help interfaces, coloring of what is seen, outlining, and adding information in a 2D or 3D fashion, yet very rudimentary compared to where it could be going in the time ahead.
What if one could imagine AR as a filter, not an overlay engine but a filter of actual reality perceived?
What is needed is the computing power to real time observe one's surroundings by depthmeasuring and camera technologies, sensor technologies, to construct a 3D model on the fly, which would require more than what current cellphones are capable of delivering of computing power, and also would need to far supersede today's somewhat quirky bulky big glasses, and frankly, even if many like it, many do not fancy walking around with their cellphone attached in front of their eyes, we need something far less intrusive for daily outdoor operation in AR space.
The real time 2much2process model which represent "reality" as perceived, would be as a surface, think today's HTML5 for web, tomorrow actual reality in it's full set of depth and color, material detection, heat detection, sensory inputs as wind, humidity, weather, every possible sensory input, it would be as a canvas that could be modified and / or extended in any thinkable way, to make it out throught the filtering and reconstruction into the wearers / users perception. Innovation on implants and other ways of programming the visual cortex directly are also going on, but there has to be a far greater detail of real time reconstruction for the real "magic" of AR and VR will be understood and seen, my 2 cents.
Key thoughts for innovation: Reality as a canvas, modification of reality (edit in/out), nontangible objects, hence easily disposable. You can add to that the potential of controlling possibility to sense, like limitation of movement of physical bodyparts, in a way to near a possible way of being able to actually touch virtual objects, too.
Just another idea rant from just another visionary.

An implant or device(s) attached to your body measuring in real time what your bodily state is and if there is a requirement for action regarding your healthcondition.
It will automatically make appointment to the nearest doctor (your personal or local if you are traveling) and/or hospital if required, eliminating the need to worry about your health.
Further advancement in measuring technology will be keeping a track of whatever goes through your bloodstream in real time, no need for blood tests having to be done as a chip can detect infections and/or events in your blood circulation.
Further development of in-place medicine printing technique, could yield a device capable of printing medicine straight into your bloodstream if a measuring system alerts that you need it.
A sample in this direction is the recent development of nearly invisible wearables and digital tattoos, read more also here: Rise of the nearly invisible wearables.

Advanced 3D printing of intelligent materials
What could we see of development of intelligent materials? From advancements in 3D printing, faster and with extremely small detail, a good few new constructed"materials" for building could be made.
For platform game enthusiasts, to make a correlation with game-level design and 3D printing, one could achieve tile based "game structure like" material parts which interconnected could construct micro functionality for new types of materials and fabrics.
Self Heating And Cooling Clothes
Let us look at f.ex. clothing; Wearable fabrics are fibers woven or different classic materials for most clothes, cotton, wool, etc. In the near future though, if printing speed at micro level gets fast enough and such materials could be combined with f.ex. heat conducting, and moving of heating and cooling channels via wires, combined with sensors towards the underneath layer of either skin or other fabric, one could hence make fabric that adjusted heating and cooling for what is underneath sensed, and what is outside sensed, to adjust towards an optimal preferred temperature for the wearer.
Self Cleaning Kitchen Bench
With an advanced structure composition, building on knowledge from f.ex. road construction (up to 11 layers for water disposal), other type of "worker" structures to move germs or other unwanted substances, from a layer on top and via nano level sewage like systems, one could imagine an intelligent kitchen bench which would dispose of leftover mess from food making automatically, a self cleaning kitchen bench system.
More ideas to come, probably.

Seeing a future where we have areas with very varied weather conditions, and also us wanting to get more out of the potential for evolution within clothing, there are a number of elements that will play a role in the coming time of design and innovation of what clothes of the future can be for humans. Some loose thoughts on what clothing could go towards of potential in a world of innovation and new technologies for making them.
Commonly Known Key Components In Clothing Designs
Ease Of Use, Looks / Fashion, Arenas Of Use, Seasons, Climate Changes.
Synthetic Biology Protocells, 3D sewing machines and more.
3D Printing of textiles already have evolved in creating intelligent pieces of fabric of assorted purpose.
With new "textile" fabrication when combining 3D printing technologies in a new way to sew fabric in sheets that can be made into wearable clothes, we can see a whole new area of venture into exploring new capabilities of fabric.
The fabrics we are used to have characteristics as structure and texture, softness, how easy they fit, and how they feel while wearing them.
Imagine then that fabric could be intelligent, with the addition of innovation and technology on a nano/micro scale inside the fabric "sewn" you can imagine automatic cooling and heating networks imprinted, hence clothes that sense if you need to cool an area of your body, or heat it, to your liking. Disposal of sweat through micro-channeling of sweat-removal mechanisms at micro/nano level, think nanobots as a fabric.
The intelligent clothes could have both animation and visual characteristics of a new generation too, changing colors based on surroundings, even communication properties that could be attuned to connect with the AR and VR agenda.
Challenge: Cleaning of clothes, what could be done to make self-cleaning clothes? What if you would not need to clean your clothes, ever? They cleaned themselves?
More to come..
