Programming audio response more directly in the brain, one can imagine a future where instruments were of a very different nature than today's physical devices altogether. Imagine already we have more and more devices for control by motion detection and also by thought. It is this environmental sound that we listen to which could have both location(s) and at any point in 3D space have a strength, vibrations is music more or less, and one could imagine vibrations being combined both as sound and perception of visuals in a combined fashion at a whole different level than today. We could have in-vision fluid streams of sounds and rhythms in 3D space, and a lot of music might sound simple to some and advanced to others, some musical preferations I think anyone has, which could be attuned in a whole different way than today. Also the presentation of lyrics and voices, humans have souls which a natural flow of harmony comes from, this goes for both melody and rhythmic impressions but of course preferences vary here.
